WEll well, looks like I am the first blogger in line again. I want gas prices to continue to rise so I can see less poor people and fewer 5.7 L Hemis and large trucks on the roads so I can wake up later and get to work faster. Ah selfish human nature.. No for real though, it is great to see the large gas huffers suffering at the pump and the little Japanese princesses zipping silently by in their ugly little hybrid shells. Unfortunately the price hikes still do not reflect the total cost of oil, they only represent uneven supply demand relationships. If the prices actually represented the true cost of oil then they would be much much higher and would not fluctuate. The "free" environmental services that we take for granted are not part of the equation. The environmental costs, the social, political and human costs... all of these prices that are kept out of the price at the pump and are going to come back and bite us in the here and now. I loved seeing severe weather in the Gulf of Mexico wreaking havoc on the many petrochemical refineries located there. The dots are all being connected, and hopefully fast enough for the public to swing around and stop supporting trillions of dollars being spent on military ignorance. Everyone has their eyes glued to the performers on the stage and don’t realize that the opera house is on fire. Pay at the pump bitch.
